2025 Masters Prop Bets: Will Joaquin Niemann, Jordan Spieth Impress in First Round at Augusta?

The 2025 Masters is the first major of the PGA Tour calendar, which means we're going to watch the best golfers in the world compete at the iconic Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia this week. Scottie Scheffler has won the green jacket two of the last three years, with Jon Rahm winning in 2023.

Oddsmakers currently value Scheffler as the outright betting favorite at +500. The defending champion is followed by Rory McIlroy at +650, Jon Rahm and Collin Morikawa at +1600, as well as Bryson DeChambeau and Ludvig Aberg at +2000 odds.

2025 Masters Prop Bets

Joaquin Niemann First Round Score: Under 71.5 (-125) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best Masters odds

Joaquin Niemann has been red-hot at LIV in 2025. The Chilean golfer is seventh in scrambling, putting average, and finding greens in regulation at 72.2 percent. He can also crush the golf ball off-the-tee, ranked fifth in driving distance with a 317.8 yard average.

Niemann has gone under 71.5 (-1) or better in Round 1 at the Masters in three consecutive trips to Augusta National. I expect a similar outcome on Thursday, especially with minimal wind and rain. Let's bet a unit on Niemann to go under 71.5 in Round 1 at -125 odds.

Sungjae Im Round First Round Score: Over 72.5 (-110) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best Masters odds

Sungjae Im has struggled a lot with his approach game in 2025. Im ranks 181st in SG: Approach, 139th at finding greens in regulation at 63.8 percent, and is 149th in driving distance. At a lengthy course like Augusta National, which emphasizes accuracy tee-to-green, with undulated speedy Bentgrass greens, it's going to be an uphill battle for Im to avoid a high score.

In Round 1 scoring this season, Im ranks 149th, averaging 71.4 in 10 events played. Im shot a 77 in Round 1 at Augusta National last year. While he's had success in 2020, 2022, and 2023, carding T2-T8-T16 finishes during those appearances, his game is not in good form right now.

Oddsmakers have mispriced Im in this market, favoring him to go under 72.5 at -125 odds. I don't think Im finishes even par in Round 1 on Thursday, so let's bet a unit on the South Korean native to go over 72.5 at -110.

J.T. Poston First Round Birdies or Better: Under 3.5 (-120) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best Masters odds

J.T. Poston overcame a missed cut during his debut at the Masters in 2022 with a T34 in 2023 and a T30 in 2024. Poston ranks 106th in Round 1 scoring average (70.8) and 51st in birdie or better percentage this season.

He's 155th SG: Putting and it won't be easy to navigate the fast-paced, sloped Bentgrass greens at Augusta National. Poston is also 146th in driving distance, 95th at finding greens in regulation, and 105th proximity. He's 114th scrambling and 102nd in sand save percentage.

Despite four par 5s featured at Augusta National, I don't think Poston records more than three total birdies in Round 1. Let's bet a unit on Poston to finish Round 1 with three or fewer birdies at -120 odds.

Jordan Spieth First Round Birdies or Better: Under 3.5 (+125) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best Masters odds

Jordan Spieth is always a difficult golfer to assess, especially at the Masters. He won a green jacket here in 2015 and has logged five other top 5 finishes at Augusta National.

In 2024, Spieth shot an opening round 79, missing the cut for the second time since 2022. The Texas native is 82nd SG: Approach, 63rd SG: Off-the-Tee, and 127th at finding greens in regulation at 64.5 percent. 92nd in proximity and 72nd scrambling aren't particularly impressive and will leave Spieth with minimal opportunities to drain birdies.

At +125 odds, we're landing good value on Spieth to finish Round 1 with less than four birdies. He's 96th in birdie average this season (3.81) and lacks consistency with his performance in the opening round through seven events.

Ultimately, Spieth's inability to hits greens in regulation will limit his birdie opportunities. Let's bet one final unit on Spieth to go under 3.5 total birdies in Round 1 at +125 odds.
