The 2025 Masters delivered an absolute Sunday thriller, with Rory McIlroy's rollercoaster win in a playoff. Can the PGA Tour carry that momentum to the RBC Heritage this week? Matt MacKay is targeting stars like Patrick Cantlay in his RBC Heritage best prop bets for April 17th and beyond.
ANALYSIS

2025 RBC Heritage Best Prop Bets: Can Patrick Cantlay, Sungjae Im Find Success at Harbour Town?

The RBC Heritage is the upcoming Signature Event on the PGA Tour this week. Hosted at Harbour Town Golf Links in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, this par 71 requires tee-to-green precision with its narrow fairways and small Bermudagrass greens.

Last year's winner, Scottie Scheffler, remains the outright betting favorite at +400 odds ahead of Round 1 on Thursday. Since it's a Signature Event, this field has a lot of big names behind Scheffler, like Collin Morikawa (+1100), Ludvig Aberg (+1200), Xander Schauffele (+1400), Patrick Cantlay (+1800) and Justin Thomas (+2000).

There is no cut line enforced at the RBC Heritage. Golfers will compete for a chance to win the $3.6 million prize on Harbour Town Golf Links designed by Pete Dye and Jack Nicklaus.

2025 RBC HERITAGE BEST PROP BETS

SHANE LOWRY VS. PATRICK CANTLAY MATCHUP - ROUND 1: PATRICK CANTLAY (-125) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best RBC Heritage odds

Patrick Cantlay has been a consistent force at Harbour Town over the last few years. He'll face off against Shane Lowry in Round 1 and oddsmakers are valuing Cantlay as a favorite at -125 odds.

Lowry shot an 81 in the final round at the Masters, so he'll be eager to get going at RBC Heritage. The Irishman ranks fifth in total strokes gained, including seventh SG: Approach and fifth in proximity. However, Lowry is also 112th at finding greens in regulation, 99th in total driving, and 79th SG: Putting.

Cantlay is 15th in total strokes gained, including 18th SG: Approach and ninth at finding greens in regulation, converting 70.8 percent of attempts. He's 24th in putting average, 7th on par 4s, and 26th in birdie average.

Lowry is averaging a better Round 1 score than Cantlay in 2025, averaging 70.0 versus Cantlay's 70.88. However, I'm more confident backing Cantlay at a course where he's produced consistently low scores. Lowry has slid outside the top 60 in back-to-back appearances at Harbour Town and he's also coming off of a +9 round at Augusta National.

Let's bet a unit on Cantlay to beat Lowry as a favorite in Round 1 at -125 odds.

AARON RAI VS. ROBERT MACINTYRE MATCHUP - ROUND 1: AARON RAI (-115) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best RBC Heritage odds

Another matchup prop i like in Round 1 is Aaron Rai against Robert MacIntyre. Both of these U.K. golfers have a lot of talent when it comes to their approach shots and finding greens in regulation. However, I like Rai more than MacIntyre based on Harbour Town's layout.

MacIntyre ranks 114th in Round 1 scoring average with a 71.00, while Rai is 39th, averaging 70.00. Rai's ranked 23rd SG: Off-the-Tee, including second on the PGA Tour in driving accuracy. This will allow him to navigate the narrow, doglegged fairways at Harbour Town. Rai's also hitting 69.9 percent of greens in regulation, which puts him in the top 15 in this metric.

MacIntyre's got similar numbers from tee-to-green but he's struggled with his putter in 2025. The Scotsman ranks 158th in putting average, compared to Rai at 65th.

These two will likely be neck-and-neck for most of Round 1. However, Rai's superior putting ability, paired with the tendency to score lower in Round 1, make me feel confident enough to back him as a marginal favorite at -115 odds.

PATRICK CANTLAY BIRDIES OR BETTER - ROUND 1: OVER 4.5 (-110) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best RBC Heritage odds

A lot of golfers in the Birdies or Better - Round 1 market have plus odds for over 4.5 total birdies. Not Patrick Cantlay. I've already highlighted exactly why I'm bullish on Cantlay at the RBC Heritage but let's cast aside any doubt.

In 2024, Cantlay recorded five birdies and one bogey to finish -4-under-par in Round 1. Cantlay's averaging 4.28 birdies per round in 2025 and he's seventh-best at par 4 scoring.

There are a plethora of par 4s at Harbour Town. With wind gusts no more than 10 miles per hour on Thursday, combined with no rain and temperatures in the low 70s, we should see Cantlay sink at least five birdies in Round 1. Let's place one more unit on Cantlay to go over 4.5 total birdies at -110 odds.

SUNGJAE IM BIRDIES OR BETTER - ROUND 1: OVER 4.5 (+125) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best RBC Heritage odds

I've been fading Sungjae Im for most of 2025 but he bounced back nicely at the Masters, recording a T5 finish for the first time since the Farmers Insurance Open in mid-January.

The South Korean golfer has regained momentum ahead of his return to Harbour Town on Thursday. Im finished Round 1 at the 2024 RBC Heritage at 3-under-par, despite making six birdies. Yes, Im was a birdie-machine at this event a year ago.

He's currently ranked 24th SG: Off-the-Tee, including 16th in driving accuracy. This will be huge to find the fairways and avoid getting caught behind trees for approach shots. Im is 32nd SG: Putting, 43rd in scrambling and ninth in putting average this season.

Im is averaging 4.31 birdies per round, ranked 23rd on the PGA Tour, while ranked 38th on par 4 holes. He's struggling with his approach shots but ranks very high with his short game around and on the greens.

With rough only standing 1.25 inches and Bermudagrass greens that run no faster than 12.5 feet via Stimpmeter, expect Im to start hot in Round 1. Let's bet one final unit on Im to record over 4.5 total birdies during Round 1 at the RBC Heritage at +125 odds.
