12:30 Saturday

Matthew O’Regan is back to preview a Premier League game this weekend, looking at the early kick off between Manchester City and Crystal Palace. He has bets ranging from 7/2 up to 80/1.

Manchester City have dropped out the top five and subsequently are at risk of dropping out of the Champions League all together. It has been a disappointing season all round for the Citizens who crashed out of the Carabao Cup and Champions League much earlier than anticipated. Still, the FA Cup and a top four finish is still up for grabs.

In Saturday’s early kick off, they host a rampant Crystal Palace side – one they potentially might meet in the FA Cup final. The sides played out an entertaining 2-2 draw in the reverse.

Matthew has provided laddered bets @ 7/2, 16/1 & 80/1 depending on your appetite for risk.

Man City vs Crystal Palace Bet Builder Tips

Matthew provides more reasoning for each part of his bet builders below.

Omar Marmoush to Score Anytime

A poor start to the season saw Manchester City go on a January splurge, with the signing of Omar Marmoush the standout. The Egyptian scored 15 goals in half a season in the Bundesliga, with The Citizens splashing out £59m to secure his services.

Since arrival, the 26-year-old has looked a live wire, scoring five goals in eight Premier League starts, as well as the winner off the bench in the 2-1 win over Bournemouth in the FA Cup. The injury to Erling Haaland has meant that Marmoush is now the focal point of City’s attack. In the Premier League, he is averaging 0.68 goals per 90, 3.68 shots and 1.64 shots on target per 90.

Bernardo Silva Over 1.5 Tackles

Bernardo Silva is still a consistent part of Pep Guardiola’s side in his eighth season at the club. Pep trusts him to play deeper in midfield, leading to greater defensive output. The Portuguese international is averaging 2.42 tackles per 90, registering eight against Manchester United, six against Bournemouth, four against Nottingham Forest and three against Crystal Palace in his four most recent starts. Nine of the last ten Premier League central midfielders to play against the Eagles have hit at least two tackles.

Daniel Munoz to be Carded

Daniel Munoz became an instant fan favourite after signing from Genk last January and has started 29 of Palace’s 30 games so far this season. The Colombian international is averaging 1.50 fouls per 90 and 0.25 yellow cards per 90. Jeremy Doku is expected to start at left midfield for the hosts. The 22-year-old is a direct threat, drawing 1.91 fouls per 90.

The emergence of academy prospect Nico O’Reilly in recent weeks has helped City’s issue with physicality. After coming off the bench against Bournemouth, the 20-year-old

registered two assists. Including this game, the last three right backs against Pep’s side have been booked, with Doku and O’Reilly a constant threat on the flanks.

Nico Gonzalez to be Carded

Nico Gonzalez was another player signed from the reigning Premier League champions in January, with the Spaniard signed from Porto. While he was benched against Manchester United, he should be reinstated into the starting XI this week.

In a small sample size in the Premier League, he has been shown 0.37 yellows per 90, making 1.68 fouls per 90. He was also booked in his only Champions League appearance against Real Madrid. This season in Portugal, he averaged 2.24 fouls and 0.43 cards per 90, as well as 2.40 fouls and 0.48 fouls per 90 in the Europa League.
