The second and third was Rosallion, and his stablemate Hattem.

They went on to run in the Irish 2000 Guineas filling the first and second spots. And Rosallion showed his worth this week winning the Group 1 St James’s Palace at this track.

The selection then went and won the Group 2 Sandy Lane on his next run, bolting up over this trip. He was then supplemented for this race on the back of that impressive win.

Multiple Group 1 winner and top two-year-old Vandeek was out well in his place in that race too.

Having easily won a maiden on the flat at around this trip for his former yard, ETHICAL DIAMOND moved to the mighty Willie Mullins in November.

He was keen and all at sea on heavy ground first time hurdling, but then an eye-catching sixth in the Grade 1 Spring Juvenile behind Kargese, and Triumph Hurdle winner, Majborough.

10th in the Triumph himself, he went on to be beaten a nose, giving nine pounds to the winner in a one-mile-two flat race in May.

He’s on a fair enough mark back on this better ground, and Willie Mullins is still operating at a high strike rate considering the jump season has ended.

He looks set to go close for Closutton.

Brian Meehan won the Coventry with a big priced runner on Tuesday, I’m hoping for another winner for his team.

Having shown potential on debut, TOCA MADERA bolted up over five-and-a-half furlongs second time up.

He was chucked in the deep end in the Group Two Norfolk last year, but was fifth in his group, beaten around nine lengths.

He then stepped it up by running third in the Group Two July Stakes, beaten just over two lengths.

And, again showed plenty when third over six furlongs in the Group Two Richmond at Goodwood, behind multiple Group 1 winner, Vandeek.

Both those runs come over six furlongs, with the latter being on soft ground.

He was only swallowed up in the final furlong of each, and this drop back in trip, on his favoured quick ground should see him run well.

The team is already on the scoreboard for the week, and Joe Leavy takes off five pounds for the selections first handicap.
