Who is the favourite to win the Irish Grand National 2025?

We reveal the favourite with the bookmakers to win the 2025 Irish Grand National at Fairyhouse this weekend.

The 2025 Irish Grand National takes place at Fairyhouse on Easter Monday (April 21), with €500,000 up for grabs in Ireland’s most valuable jumps handicap.

Run over 3m5f and 24 fences, it’s a proper test of stamina and jumping, and rarely goes to script – 150/1 outsider Freewheelin Dylan proved that in 2021.

This year’s race looks another competitive renewal. Cheltenham winner Haiti Couleurs leads the betting for Britain, while the home team includes Now Is The Hour and Johnnywho.

Irish-trained runners have won every year since 2014, and the big question is whether British raider Haiti Couleurs – the ante-post favourite – can break that streak.

Who is the favourite to win the Irish Grand National 2025?

Haiti Couleurs heads the betting for the 2025 Irish Grand National at a best price of 6/1 with Ladbrokes, bringing standout credentials after a dominant Cheltenham win over 3m6f.

Trained by Rebecca Curtis, the eight-year-old boasts proven stamina, a strong strike rate in staying chases, and a front-running style well-suited to Fairyhouse.

While history is against favourites and British-trained runners, his profile matches key trends on age, weight, and form. If he handles the big field, he’s a leading contender to buck the trend.

Now Is The Hour, a novice chaser for Gavin Cromwell, is second favourite in the Irish Grand National at 9/1 with BetGoodwin.

He was going well in the 3m6f National Hunt Chase before falling late, but nonetheless proved it has the stamina needed for this test. His standout 17-length Grade 2 hurdle win at Haydock confirms class and as an Irish trained, he benefits from the trend of home-trained winners.

Johnnywho, trained by Jonjo O’Neill and owned by J.P. McManus, has shown strong potential for the 2025 Irish Grand National and is a best price of 10/1 with bet365.

The 8-year-old chaser finished a close second in the 2025 Kim Muir at Cheltenham, highlighting his ability to stay the distance and perform in big-field handicaps.

Despite only having one chase win to his name, his consistent form in handicaps, combined with a solid showing in the Kim Muir, suggests he has the stamina for the 3m5f trip at Fairyhouse.
