NFC East 2025 NFL Draft Outlook, Team Needs: Have The Giants Signaled It's Travis Hunter, Not QB at 3?
Since last time, we spent time discussing the runner-up Kansas City Chiefs in my AFC West Draft Outlook and Team Needs. It’s only fitting we talk about the Super Bowl-winning Philadelphia Eagles next.
But don’t get too complacent, Eagles fans, there’s another “youngin'” in D.C. named Jayden Daniels who's just ready to take over the league. Meanwhile, the other two teams in the NFC East might be considering a rebuild with a vicious circle, as they keep going around and around in mediocrity.
Let's take a closer look at each team and see what they could do in the 2025 NFL Draft, starting with the current holders of the Lombardi Trophy.

Ok, for the Super Bowl Champs: It wasn't long after they reached the pinnacle of sports that questions started to form. Can they repeat? They lost several players in free agency, but gained some solid ones as well, so what's to make of this team for 2025 and the NFL Draft?
Don’t ever doubt Howie. Howie Roseman has done work in the draft in past years and pay attention to the fifth round, where they have four picks.
But let’s talk about the first pick they should make: Donovan Ezeiruaku, EDGE, Boston College. The 2024 Ted Hendricks Award winner can bring needed destruction and quickness to the Eagle’s defensive line, who lost some pieces this free agency period. Howie Roseman and the coaching staff will continue to focus on the trenches, which is a vital piece to their success.

As you may know, I'm a fan of the Raiders. And I'm looking to Washington for inspiration, let me explain.
Last season, the Commanders were a team to watch, mainly because of Jayden Daniels and the impact he could have as the team's quarterback. In just one season, Washington managed to win eight more games than the previous year. If they hadn’t experienced a second-half meltdown against the Eagles in the NFC Championship, we could have witnessed history.
Raiders Nation, there is hope!
But regarding the Commanders. Can they build on last season’s miracle by building in this year’s draft? They have been busy addressing position needs at the offensive and defensive line in free agency. Adding a second wide receiver was critical to their needs. Deebo Samuel became available, and even if he may have lost a step or two, he brings versatility to the offense. Both he and Terry McLaurin are entering that slow-down period very soon, so time is short even though McLaurin torched the Lions in the playoffs.
With that in mind, going for Emeka Egbuka, WR, Ohio St., could be a step in the right direction. We know that the accuracy of Daniels is good when throwing the ball. So adding Egubka, a crisp route runner who can catch contested balls out of the slot, could do wonder for Kliff Kingsbury’s second-year installation of the offense.

Ooof!
This is the only word I can use to describe this franchise and its delusional fandom. The team might make a significant trade, and there are already rumors about Dak Prescott possibly being on the block. Whether those rumors are true is for you to decide. Personally, I believe Jerry Jones is capable of anything.
CeeDee Lamb is one of the best wide receivers in the league, but he could use a buddy. Tetairoa McMillan, WR, Arizona, is one of the tallest wide receivers in the draft. His ability to come down with contested catches is fun to watch. He should be a candidate for close to double-digit touchdowns (fantasy football nuggets).
Don’t mistake it, CeeDee Lamb is the alpha here, but the Cowboys lost Brandin Cooks and none of the other receivers made a point to step up entirely. McMillan could be the fit this offense needs on the outside.

Speaking of the mediocrity mentioned in the intro, let’s bring attention to the New York Giants in New Jersey.
Maybe the Giants are trying to tell us what they think of the quarterbacks (Shedeur Sanders, Jaxson Dart, Jalen Milroe, etc.) in the 2025 NFL Draft. Within four days, Big Blue signed Jameis Winston and Russell Wilson to compete for the starting quarterback. If you ask me, I don’t think it is much of a competition. I’m taking Jameis Winston to not only start in game one but also lead them to a Week 1 victory.
When it comes to what the Giants need in this draft, they have to turn to the multi-talented, Heisman Trophy Winner Travis Hunter should he fall to them. His skills can allow him to partner with either Malik Nabers or opposite Paulson Adebo, and the Giants can ill afford to miss on Hunter. Even if he plays defensive back for G-Men, you know they'll at least attempt to utilize him on the offensive side of the ball.
Travis Hunter is a weapon. One that could change the Giants’ fate if the Browns pass and he's there at No. 3.
