AFC South 2025 NFL Draft Outlook, Team Needs: Can Cam Ward Be The Titans' Savior?

AFC South 2025 NFL Draft Outlook, Team Needs: Can Cam Ward Be The Titans' Savior?
Reflecting on last season during training camp, I remember stating that the AFC South is on the rise. Each team has young talent at the quarterback position. Anthony Richardson and Will Levis (often referred to as Mayo Jeans) just need to step up their game.
Their performance was lackluster, to say the least, as the four quarterbacks combined for an average rating of 78.8 for the season. That won't be sufficient for success, and while I accept that I can be wrong at times, I can't afford to be mistaken when it comes to making money.
One of these teams was awarded the number one overall pick, due to a subpar season. The other three teams have their franchise quarterbacks, sort of? The jury is still out on Anthony Richardson. If Daniel Jones puts pressure on Richardson and ends up starting because of poor performance by Richardson. That could spell curtains for Richardson’s career as a starter in the NFL.
We'll get to the Titans and the first pick in time, but let's start with the AFC South champs …

After the season ended for the Texans, two major questions emerged. The first: Who will lead the offense following Bobby Slowik's departure as offensive coordinator? The second question: How to address the team’s obvious need for improvement on the offensive line?
Fortunately, during free agency, the Texans took action by adding players like Cam Robinson and Trent Brown, aiming to revive the offensive line. But more work should be done in the NFL Draft.
With the arrival of several veterans, adding a young talent like Grey Zabel, an offensive tackle from North Dakota State, could be a good fit for them. He has shown versatility in playing multiple positions along the line. Look, his arms — at just a 32" reach — aren’t going to grow, so maybe some of the vets can give him some pointers on how to overcome that.
If the Texans can continue to address their offensive line concerns, they will be taking a positive step forward.

Another subpar season for the Colts. With all the team had to endure, Shane Steichen has done the best he could with the rag-tag bunch!
In 2025, the team will be led by Anthony Richardson or Daniel Jones. Indianapolis, I think, have seen enough of Richardson, and it’s only a matter of time unless the troubled young quarterback can put things together.
But before we even get to the season, the Colts need to focus on this draft. They have several needs, but a pass rusher could be a move to help them overcome their obstacles.
Jalon Walker, EDGE, Georgia, could be a move since they might be doing some cleaning up to the offensive side. He's dealing with a thigh injury, but if he shows up and out at his pro day before the 2025 NFL Draft he should be back in play for the Colts. The Dick Butkus Award winner is a strong and willing tackler. He could add a spark to this defense.

Sure, they have a pool in their stadium, which is pretty dope. But recently, the Jaguars have been making shallow moves when it comes to making the team better. Liam Coen was inserted as head coach to help fix the offense.
At the draft, adding a player like Tyler Warren, TE, Penn St., would be the move to help this offense. Trevor Lawrence will throw to the tight end position and Warren has strong reliable hands that could make Lawrence forget about losing Evan Engram. Warren does need to work on blocking. However, the Jaguars did add Johnny Mundt and Hunter Long to possibly help with that, allowing Warren to line up everywhere on the field on offense.

Holding the coveted No. 1 Overall Pick is always an intriguing event for the team making it. All eyes are not only on this one move, but each one made by the player on the field the team's future is tied to this perceived franchise saver. I'm not going to sit here and list all the No. 1 picks that became busts, but Cam Ward, QB, Miami, could carry that risk.
The Titans have been tied to Ward ever since Will Levis was benched in favor of Mason Rudolph. I know … I chuckled, too. But back to the Miami signal caller, Ward's elite arm talent would make most teams interested in acquiring him. He does need to work on decision-making, seemingly the same attributes Levis has.
Good luck!
